Russell Fights Back From Penalty For Fourth-Place Finish
22-Year-Old In Busy Part Of The Season
Sure, you can't win them all.  And Tim Russell is learning that this season.  And as much as he'd like to win them all, sometimes the cards just don't quite fall right and things happen for a reason.
Tim headed to New Smyrna Speedway this past weekend for a rescheduled Goodyear Challenge Series event at the high-banked half-mile.

After qualifying a strong second, Tim had to start 6th after the invert.

"We had a really good car," said Tim.  "We were pretty fast and I knew we'd just need to take our time and work our way to the front.

"We were battling with Jerry Artuso and we just barely got into the back of him.  (Track officials) sent us both to the back of the pack and we had to work our way back forward again.  By the end of the night, we were able to get back up to fourth, but that was as far as we could get with the time we had to try and get back up front."
Tim's fourth-place run at New Smyrna was a positive.
Amazing as it is, the fourth-place finish was one of Russell's worst of the season.  Outside of the two races he fell out of earlier in the year, Russell has yet to finish outside the top-five.  In fact, he's been in the top three in all but two of those races, where he's got a fourth- and a fifth-place finish.

Up next for Russell is the next Goodyear Challenge Series race on the schedule, set for this weekend at Columbia Motorsports Park in Lake City.
