Tim Russell and his #36 Super Late Model team are looking strong going into the third leg of the Triple Crown, having won the previous two events of the series, but they also have another weapon in their arsenal.
They now have the support of new sponsors Tempaco Control Systems and Noritz Tankless Water Heaters and are in negotiations for sponsorship for the 2010 season.
“It’s good for the team to get these resources going,” said Russell. “We’ve pretty much raced most of the year without a sponsor, so it’s definitely a help to have some money coming in. Hopefully we can put on a good show and possibly pull off the win to get the three-peat in the Triple Crown by winning the third race of the Triple Crown this year. So, I’m looking forward to it and, like I said, hopefully we can pull off a good showing for the new sponsor.”
With continued success at New Smyrna Speedway this year, Russell also has the support of four wins at the track behind him going into the November 21st event.
“I think we’ve got a pretty good baseline there for the Governor’s Cup,” explained Russell. “We finished second the last two years there so hopefully we can go out there and pull off the win this time. We should have all our ducks in a row and that with the sponsor backing, it just gives us the extra confidence to know that we can race hard while doing our best to represent their companies.”
