Tim Russell Grabs Another Podium Finish at New Smyrna
Bright House Champion Chasing Third-Straight Title
Tim Russell kept his 2009 season rolling in the right direction as he took home another podium finish at New Smyrna Speedway (FL) in latest round of the Bright House Challenge Series.  The two-time defending series champion won the pole and worked his way back towards the front from his fifth starting spot to post a second place finish.

We had a great car all day on Saturday,” said Russell.  “We were able to go out there put it on the pole on Saturday so we were really pumped for the race.  The redraw pushed us back to fifth.  It’s getting tougher and tougher to pass at New Smyrna.  We were able to get up to second and pressure the leader the whole race.  We just had to settle for second.”

As the 2007 and 2008 Bright House Challenge Series Champion, Tim Russell knows that good finishes will keep him in the point race all year long. A victory is really what he is looking for in the short term.

“We want to win,” said Russell.  “We come to the race track wanting to be the fastest car every time we race. We’ll be back in victory lane soon.  I think this track owes us one, but you still have to go and race.”

Tim Russell will return to action on Saturday, April 25th at New Smyrna Speedway in the Billie Harvey Memorial 100.
