TIM RUSSELL READY TO GET BACK ON TRACK AT LAKELAND
Hoping For Clearing Skies in Florida Super Late Model Racing
Tim Russell and his team might be feeling the urge to do a little rain dance this weekend, that is a a dance to keep the rain away.  The past few attempts at races in Florida have been nothing but washouts,  and Russell is ready to get back on the track, especially when the next SUNBELT Series race comes at one of his favorite racetracks, USA International Speedway (FL).

“I feel really good going to USA International Speedway," said Russell.
We were able to sit on the pole our last time out there.  We ended up
getting caught up in an incident due to the inversion, but our car was fast
before that happened.

“All year long we have had strong cars there. We were able to win the ASA
Southeast Asphalt Tour event there and we are taking back the same car.
Everybody here in the shop is working really hard, and they are all shooting
to bring home a win this weekend.”

Because of the rain issues, it’s been about a month since Russell has been
able to compete out on the track.  But Russell has been putting his down
time to some good use, both off and on the track.

“It’s been awhile since we have been racing,” added Russell.  “But I have
been able to get in some testing during the breaks.  It’s like riding a bicycle,
you never forget how to do it.  I’ve tried to stay sharp and we have been able
to get our stuff dialed in real good so that we can make sure we bring the best piece possible and hopefully we will be able to bring home a good finish.”
