TIM RUSSELL READY TO BEAT THE RAIN THIS WEEK
Russell and His Team Set for Sunbelt Series Event at Columbia
This year in the state of Florida, one of the biggest competitors on the track hasn’t been another racecar driver, it has been the weather.  This weekend, Florida Super Late Model driver Tim Russell hopes that is not the case as it was the last time he headed to Columbia Motorsports Park (FL) as he prepares to head back there for the next race in the prestigious Sunbelt Series.

It will be his first time this year at the track.  The event that was to be held this earlier this season succumbed to rain, but it’s a track he has had success on before and he hopes to be able to repeat that success this time around.

“I haven’t even been on the track this year,” said Russell.  “It’s been about a year since we have raced there.  I am sure it has changed a little but we have been fast pretty much everywhere that we go and I hope that it will be the same this week at Columbia.  Hopefully we can add another pole position to our stats as well.”

Russell will also be carrying some familiar colors, with a charity on the hood of his car. Last week at New Smyrna he was able to put on a second place showing for the Children’s Miracle Network, and this week he hopes to be able to top that with a win.

“I really would like to bring home a win for the Children’s Miracle Network,” added Russell.   “It is such a great organization that does so much for children’s healthcare and it’s great to be able to give back to the local and national community.  It would mean a lot to win for them this weekend.”

Tim Russell will be back in racing action July 9, 2008 when the Sunbelt Series heads to Columbia Motorsports Park (FL).  Stay tuned to timrussellonline.com for all the latest news and updates.
