Tim Russell Is Ready to Defend Brighthouse Championship
SLM Returns To New Smyrna Aiming for Another Victory There
Defending Brighthouse Challenge Series champion Tim Russell is ready to pick up right where he left off when the Super Late Model Series starts their 2008 season this Saturday at New Smyrna Speedway (FL).
“I think that we should have a really good car,” said Russell.  “We got rained out last Friday or Orlando and we were really happy with the car in practice for that race.  It was really fast, so we’re looking forward to going back to New Smyrna.”

Russell has already raced at New Smyrna this season as part of Florida Speedweeks and even though Russell finished first or second in five of his six starts there, his team has been hard at work since then to get even better for this weekend’s race.

“We made a few improvements over what we ran at Speedweeks.  It looks like we should be pretty good.  We’ll have a fun race.”

The Brighthouse Challenge Series event at New Smyrna Speedway is scheduled for Saturday night, March 22nd.
