Tim Russell Finishes Second in Clyde Hart Memorial
Young Driver Looks Toward Orlando SpeedWorld For Next Chance at Victory
Tim Russell is simply unstoppable.  In his latest feat, Russell was able to bring home his 21st top-10 finish of the 2007 season, finishing second in the rain delayed Clyde Hart Memorial at New Smyrna Speedway.

“This weekend went good for us,“ said Russell.  “It was another second place finish for us.  We had our brand new car there, and we were just working the bugs out.  I was really hoping to be able to repeat last year and bring home another win for the Hart family, but second isn’t so bad. The car was tight all night long so we just worked on it throughout the night.  But we were able to go home with the car all in one piece and it ended up being a pretty good night..”

Win or not, a second place is impressive, especially when you are trying to win a Championship, and he was able to increase his lead on the Sunbelt points as he gets ready for his next event, a Brighthouse Challenge Series event at Orlando SpeedWorld.

“This weekend we get right back into it at Orlando SpeedWorld.  We haven’t raced there since March and we were really fast there back in the spring.

“We are taking a different car than the one we ran at New Smyrna, but we have won in the car that we are taking three times before.  Hopefully we can add a fourth win to the list this weekend and continue the winning tradition.”

This race won’t be the only one that Russell has back to back on the remainder of his schedule.  October is going to be a very busy month for Russell, as he will be racing almost every weekend in his chase for two separate championships; The Sunbelt Series and the Brighthouse Challenge Series, which will both be decided in mid November at New Smyrna Speedway.

“We are going to be racing a lot lately, and it’s going to be a blast.  If I had my choice, we would be racing every day of the week.  Our guys have been working hard every day all year long, and I owe it all to them.  If I didn’t have them behind me I wouldn’t be able to do it.  We have a bout a five week stretch of races coming up here, and I hope we can bring home some wins and some championships and finish the season out with a bang.”

Tim will be back in action on October 5th when the Brighthouse Challenge Series heads to Orlando SpeedWorld
