Tim Russell headed to New Smyrna Speedway this past weekend, and he did what he does best. He brought home a solid finish for his Rinnai Racing team, with a second place spot.
“It was a good weekend for the Rinnai Team,” said Russell. “We would have liked to have won the race but we will take second any day. We made a couple of adjustments and made our car a little too tight. We could keep up with the leader but we just couldn’t get by him.”
He will be back in action this weekend once again at New Smyrna Speedway for the Sunbelt race. He heads into the event with the Sunbelt Points lead, and he hopes to lead as the race winner.
“We have a hundred lapper at New Smyrna next week, so we will go undo what we did and we should be a contender there for next week. I want to win there, but I want to win at every track we go to. We haven’t won there this year, and it would be nice to get a win there on the new asphalt. Hopefully it will come this weekend.”
