Tim Russell Adds Another Impressive Finish to His List
Young Driver Heads to Orlando SpeedWorld for Next Event
Tim Russell just keeps rolling in the top-10 finishes.  In the 10 events he has started so far this year, he has only finished out of the top-10 once, and that was when he was caught up in an accident (one not of his own doing) after running third in the Daytona ARCA race. This past weekend at DeSoto Super Speedway he added to his stats after he walked away with a sixth place finish.

“It was a good race for the Rinnai Dodge,” said Russell.  “The track lost a lot of grip on the bottom. It was hard to get a good run off of someone on the bottom.  We were a little loose in the race.  I got up to third and I was running around the inside of the second-place guy for like 30 laps just trying to get around the bottom.   We stayed side by side forever, but I think I got into some oil and spun out.  There were only 20 laps to go, but I was able to hold on and come back up to finish sixth.”

Russell’s busy schedule doesn’t stop now, and with all the recent success, Russell wouldn’t want it to stop either.  Next weekend he will head to Orlando SpeedWorld to compete in the next event of the Brighthouse Challenge Series.  It’s a short, circular track and it’s one that Tim knows the way around very well.  He has won there before in a Late Model, and he looks to be able to add another victory in his Super Late Model.

“It’s a smaller track for these Super Late Models,” added Russell.   “It’s 3/8ths, but it’s fast.  It is a lot of fun to drive on.  We went and tested last week and we were really excited about how our test went.  I hope that we can bring home our next win next weekend.”

The Brighthouse Challenge Series Event at Orlando SpeedWorld will get underway Friday March 16th with racing beginning at 8:00pm/
