Tim Russell has been on a roll lately, and he hopes that roll will continue to extend this weekend as he heads to Orlando SpeedWorld to compete in the Sunbelt Super Late Model Series 125 event on Friday, September 15th.
“I am really excited about going back to Orlando SpeedWorld,” said Russell. “We won there twice last year in our Late Model and I am looking forward to trying and getting some of that magic back with my Rinnai Super Late Model. We struggled a little bit at the beginning of the season, but I really think we are on top of this Super Late Model thing now. We have been running top-five at every race that we have been to.
“Hopefully our presence will be felt this weekend and we can have a good run out there.”
Just last week Russell was in Joliet, IL competing in the ARCA RE/MAX Series event at Chicagoland Speedway. After putting on an impressive performance in his #9 Rinnai / Hagans Racing Dodge and competing with some of the best stock car drivers in the country, Russell is ready for his next challenge at Orlando SpeedWorld.
“I hope our roll that we have been on continues," added Russell. "It is definitely fun to be running up front every week. The ARCA race went awesome, I can’t thank Matt Hagans enough for giving me the opportunity to drive that car, Rinnai for coming aboard and I am really looking forward to next year. We just have to keep on going and try and rack us up as many Super Late Model wins as we can before the season is over.”
The Sunbelt Super Late Model 125 event will get underway at 8:00pm this Friday September 17th at Orlando SpeedWorld, located in Orlando, Florida.
