Unfortunately, Russell’s night, which included leading some laps, didn’t end very well. He finished up 17th.
“We started out just riding and saving the brakes, looking to have them for the last 100 laps,” said Russell. “After we pitted, the car was real good. My spotter told me to back it down and save it for later on.”
It was then that Russell got into it with Wayne Anderson while battling for a top spot.
“I think I came down on Wayne a little bit,” added Russell. “He’s not going to do that to me on purpose. There is just not a lot of give and take with 50 to go. We might have pitted too early, but we’ll never know.
“We are just looking to regroup get back on the winning track like last year.”
