IT'S ANOTHER BUSY WEEKEND FOR TIM RUSSELL
Plenty of Racing at a New Track and an Old Favorite
Tim Russell likes to keep busy.  Several times this year he has run two races on the same weekend and he plans to do that again this coming weekend as Friday night he heads to Ocala Speedway (FL) to compete in the Super Late Model ranks.  Then, provided that he still has a car, he will be heading to DeSoto Speedway on Saturday to compete in the All American Challenge series.
“If we have a car left after Ocala we will race on Saturday at DeSoto, but they seem to tear a lot of stuff up,” said Russell.  “I have never raced at Ocala before, so I only know what I have seen at races I have watched. But it seems like it will be a pretty neat

“There are a lot of reasons why stuff gets torn up there.  There is a dogleg in three and four and it is so tight.  There isn’t a lot of room to pass and the past races I have seen there it seems like people get hung up there on the outside and it looks like that was a really bad spot to be in.

Despite the challenges, Russell knows what it takes to win and he has sought the help of people who have been around the track many times before.

“My goal this weekend is to come home with the win.  Our test went pretty good the other day, I adapted to the track pretty quickly and I had well known veteran Kevin Durden, who has many laps around that track teaching me how to do it.  He is running a Super Late Model and he has been showing me the line around the track and teaching me a couple of different pointers.  It should help us a lot as we go into this weekend.”

Russell hopes to be busy this weekend
