Tim Russell has had a pretty busy week. On Monday and Tuesday he spent time up in Illinois testing an ARCA RE/MAX car at Chicagoland Speedway, by Wednesday he was heading back to Florida to get ready to go to the Brighthouse Challenge at New Smyrna Speedway.
“The ARCA test went really good," said Russell. "We brought a new car and were just trying somethings on it. We were going into the corner pretty well, just a little snug in the middle so we have a few things that we are going to change on it for next week, but I think we have a solid top-five car for the race and a good shot at the win.”
Several of the Super Late Model races that Russell had planned to run this season have been rained out, as was the case this past weekend with Ocala Speedway. Russell has high hopes to be able to kick off his busy month of September off on the right foot at New Smyrna.
“I am excited to run the Brighthouse Challenge this weekend," added Russell. "We thought it would be a good race for us to go to since we haven’t race in a month because of all the rain. We went up there and tested and were pretty good, so we just want get to racing again.”
The Brighthouse Challenge will get underway this Saturday September 2nd at New Smyrna Speedway (FL).
